The field station is an experimental structure at the Architectural Association's Hooke Park campus. It is a demountable timber space frame made up of small diameter round timber branches and sawn timber chords. The assembly of this structure is like a puzzle; the joints are not fixed, but kept in compression, and can be demounted by releasing tension elements within the roof system.
